The Central Office Staff at Basic Learning Skills

Frankie Jennings is at the helm of the company as its CEO. She provides overall leadership and direction at BLS and works closely with parents, lead teachers, and administrators of school districts to ensure the success of the tutorial program. She holds a BS degree in Nursing Education from Albany State College in Georgia. Her company, FJ Services provides customized marketing and publicity services.

A well known community leader, Ms. Jennings serves on the Board of the Fort Myers Redevelopment Agency. She was recently honored as a pioneer for the Women in Business Committee of the Atlanta Business League and remains an associate member of the League. 

She is also a member of the Education Industry Association. Several of the schools Basic Learning Skills serves are in the neighborhoods Ms. Jennings represented during her tenure on the Fort Myers City Council.

Roy H. Kennix is the Director of Planning and Development, Mr. Kennix assist the CEO with school district and parent relations, overall program evaluation, and curriculum assessment. He has completed all requirements for a doctorate in public administration from the University of Georgia with the exception of a dissertation.

He holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburg, and has more than 40 years experience in executive leadership in public and private sector education and community development entities.

Sharon Bowman holds the position of MIS Director and has overall responsibility for student information, including management of Cayen and other electronic student information data processing systems used by various school districts. Mrs. Bowman was educated at the University of North Dakota, and retired after 31 years with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Lead Teachers serve as a liaison with each school's SES facilitators and other school officials. Most of Basic Learning Skills' lead teachers possess a graduate degree. They provide overall management for BLS at each school, supervise instructional personnel, and recruit teachers for tutoring. The firm of James M. L. Wesolowski, CPA, P.A. serves as a consultant to Basic Learning Skills, and provides training to our tutors as independent contractors. This training also assists them with managing their expenses and handling their taxes.

Yaskara Reyes (Jackie) works in fiscal and office management. Her duties include accounting, data entry, invoicing and tutors' payroll. She provides these services with support from James M. Wesolowski, CPA. Both individuals have extensive fiscal private and public sector experience. Jackie is taking course work at Hodges University in Fort Myers, Florida to complete her degree in business administration.

Silvia Sprott is a Management Information System associate. Her duties include managing the Cayenne System, an electronic student information system that tracks attendance, enrollment and start-up. Silvia has an associate of science degree in elementary teaching from the National Institute of Higher Education in Argentina, South America. She is continuing her course work in business administration at Hodges University in Fort Myers, Florida.
